Adult Puppetry Courses
Adult Puppetry Courses Available for 2009.
Basic Puppet Making and Manipulation
This session provides participants with all the skills they need in order to use puppetry in their respective environments. The participants learn design, create their own puppets and are taught basic manipulation skills. This half day course is suitable for adults working with all ages.
“Thank you so much for such an inspiring course. I can’t wait to get to school and give it a go. I really didn’t expect to learn so much valuable material and I love my puppet!” - Teacher who attended a puppet course held in the Crescent Centre, Lower Earley. February 2009.
Large Puppet Making and Performing
This day course includes a demonstration of puppetry skills and relevant experience of working large foam puppets in group scenarios. Each participant is given the opportunity to design and create a foam, or material puppet to be used in their working environment. This course is suitable for those who want to extend their puppetry knowledge.
Conflict Management Course
Using large foam puppets, the participants can enact a number of scenarios while reflecting on motivation and outcomes. The puppets provide a safety net which allows both puppeteer and observers to react with honesty to any given situation. This course is ideal for the work place but can be adapted to run with young people.
“Sensitively managed and thought provoking… the puppets make it all easier somehow.” – Delegate from a puppet course. Pottytree Puppets
Pottytree Puppets also offer a range of programmes aimed at children and young people from the age of 2 to 16. Please visit the ‘what Pottytree Puppets offers’ page for more information. You can also see example pages from Jo Bryant’s interactive book “Mrs Pottytree and her Flying Carpet” (aimed at 3 to 8 years) which is available to buy from the site or any book store.
“We have just finished zooming around on our old rug – oops I mean flying carpet – after attending one of your workshops. I am so glad I could carry on with the adventure using your book. We are now on the look out for your next story." – Parent involved in a Mrs Pottytree programme.
